BOULDER, Colo. - The Texas Tech women's tennis team suffered its second loss of the season falling to Colorado, 5-2, in Boulder, Colo. today. The Lady Raiders struggled in doubles play loosing two out of three, as well as in singles play loosing four out of six matches.

In singles play, senior Irina Tereschenko was defeated by Lindsay Kever (CU), 7-6, 1-6, 6-4, at position number one, while senior Kendall Brooks lost to Jessica Vanderdys (CU), 6-2, 6-3, in position number two. In position number three, sophomore Tara Browning lost to Kendra Strandemo (CU), 3-6, 7-6, 6-3, and in position number four, Martina Sedivec (CU) bested sophomore Alexandra Zotta, 6-2, 6-2. In a tough battle at position number five, freshman Lakann Wagley defeated Morgan Sall (CU), 2-6, 7-6, 1-0, 11-9, while at the number six position sophomore Katja Kovacic knocked off Kristy Randono (CU), 6-3, 4-6, 1-0, 10-5.

In doubles play, Brooks and Tereschenko lost to Sall and Vanderdys (CU), 8-1, at position number one. Browning and Kovacic knocked off Randono and Sedivec(CU), 8-5, in position number two. In position number three, Wagley and Kovacic were defeated by Kever and Jenny Hanson (CU), 8-1.

"We're going to continue to get better and better with each match," stated head coach Cari Groce. "It's just a matter of us being patient and continuing with what we're doing. We're getting better and stronger as a team and I know there are good things ahead."

The Lady Raiders head to Huntsville, Texas, Feb. 20, where they will take on Sam Houston State at 8:30 a.m. and Louisiana Tech at 2 p.m.
