No. 21 Texas Tech Ousts No. 36 Yale at Blue Gray|

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – No. 21 Texas Tech cruised to a 4-1 win over No. 36 Yale on Friday at the O’Connor Tennis Facility in the first round of the Blue Gray National Tennis Classic.
Tech began the day by winning the double point, as Nikki Sanders and Rashmi Teltumbde toppled Yale’s Hanna Yu and Sherry Li, 6-4. Texas Tech secured the point, when No. 37 Samantha Adams and Kenna Kilgo toppled No. 43 Ree Ree Li and Madeleine Hamilton, 7-5.
No. 110 Sanders then made it 2-0 with a quick 6-2, 6-2 victory over Ree Ree Li, just ahead of Lynn Kiro’s 6-0, 6-2 victory over Sherry Li.
Yale got on the board, when No. 97 Hamilton topped #115 Kilgo, 7-6, 6-2, but it was too little, too late, as Samantha Czarniak Rego notched the win for Texas Tech, as she recorded a straight set, 6-3, 6-3 over Courtney Amos.
Texas Tech returns to action on Saturday at 11 a.m. against No. 14 Alabama in the semifinals.#21 Texas Tech 4, #36 Yale 1
