No. 20 Lady Raiders Cruise To 6-1 Win Over Cal Poly
Kenna Kilgo paced the Lady Raiders to a 6-1 win over Cal Poly on Wednesday. March 7, 2012 SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - No. 20 Texas Tech (10-2) cruised to a 6-1 win over Cal Poly (6-6) on Wednesday at the Mustang Courts. "I thought we played ver good in our singles matches today" said Lady Raider head coach Todd Petty. "Kenna (Kilgo) and Samantha (Adams) led the charge today, which set the tone for our team." Kilgo cruised to a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 6 singles, while Adams won at No. 2 singles, 6-3, 6-4. The Lady Raiders also picked up wins from Rashmi Teltumbde, Caroline Starck and Nikki Sanders. It was Sanders 14th straight win of the season, as she moved to 11-0 in dual matches. Tech's lone loss came at No. 1 singles, where No. 122 Elizabeth Ullathorne lost in the super tiebreaker to Cal Poly's Alexa Lee, 6-3, 4-6, 11-9. "Elizabeth played well today, but lost a few key points, which was the difference in the match for her," added Petty. The Lady Raiders started the day by sweeping doubles, including a 9-7 win from the nationally-ranked tandem of Adams and Kilgo. DOUBLES
