MANHATTAN, Kan. - Today the Texas Tech women's tennis team dropped its third straight match to 45th-ranked Kansas State, 6-1, in Manhattan, Kan., at the Aheam Field House. The Red Raiders fall to 6-4, 2-4 in Big 12 action. The Wildcats improve to 5-4, 2-0 in league play.

Tech lost the doubles point by losing all three matches. Freshman Irina Tereschenko and Beverly Dawson opened the No. 1 position with a 4-1 lead, but Eva Novotna and Alena Jecminkova of Kansas State battled back to win 8-6. Tereschenko and Dawson fall to 8-2 overall and 4-2 in league play.

The match of the day in singles action came at the No. 1 position as the Red Raiders' Tereschenko rallied from a set down to defeat Alena Jecminkova, 3-6, 6-3, 7-6(5). Jecminkova won the first set and went up 2-1 in the second before Tereschenko won five of the next six games to split sets.
