No. 30 Lady Raiders Topple No. 71 Santa Clara, 4-1|

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – No. 30 Texas Tech snapped a four-match losing streak with a 4-1 win over No. 71 Santa Clara on Sunday at the Degheri Tennis Center.
The losing streak was the first of its kind during the Todd Petty Era of Lady Raider Tennis. The last time Texas Tech had lost four straight was in April, 2008.
Texas Tech picked up the doubles point with a revamped doubles lineup. Seniors Nikki Sanders and Rashmi Teltumbde have moved into the top spot, but fell short on Sunday against Katie Le and Daniella Silva, 8-5.
Lynn Kiro and Kenna Kilgo devoured Chelby Cooke and Delphine Rouvillois, 8-1, at No. 2, just ahead of Samantha Adams and Beatriz Machado Santos upending Stephanie Skaras and Nicolette Wolny, 8-2, give Texas Tech the doubles point.
Santa Clara evened the score, as No. 25 Le topped Kilgo at No. 1 singles, 6-0, 6-2.
The Lady Raiders answered with three straight-set wins from Kiro, Adams and Teltumbde to secure the win for Texas Tech.
After six straight road matches, the Lady Raiders return to Lubbock to face No. 7 Texas at noon on Sunday at the McLeod Tennis Center.
