Zlebnik Loses First Match of Season
March 14, 1998 LUBBOCK, Texas - Kansas State defeated Texas Tech 9-0 in women's tennis action Saturday, March 14 at Texas Tech's Athletic Training Center. With the loss, Texas Tech falls to 6-4 on the season and 3-4 in the Big 12 Conference. Texas Tech will next play Louisville on Monday at Abilene Christian University. Texas Tech's freshman No. 1 singles player Zana Zlebnik, who recently was named the Big 12 Women's Tennis Player of the Month for March, dropped her first match of the season, a 6-3, 6-2 decision to Kansas State's Yana Dorodnova. Zlebnik is now 9-1 on the season and 6-1 in Big 12 competition. The visiting Wildcats won all singles and doubles matches. It was the first time Texas Tech has been swept altogether on the season.
