AUSTIN, Texas - The Texas Tech womens' tennis team faced No. 16 Texas at the Penick-Allison Tennis Center in Austin, Texas, falling to the Longhorns, 6-1.This was the first match since 1998 that the Red Raiders were not shut-out by the Horns.

Tech picked up its one point in singles play from No. 3 Beverly Dawson. Dawson defeated UT's Katie Ruckert (ranked 70th by ITA), 6-4, 4-6, 11-9.

The Red Raiders face the University of Oklahoma on Tues., March 26, at 12 p.m. at the McLeod Tennis Center.
