Women's Tennis Claims Victory over North Texas Tech

DENTON, Texas - Texas Tech's women's tennis team earned a 6-3 win Sunday against North Texas in Denton, Texas. The Red Raiders captured five of six singles and one doubles slot.

The Tech squad held their opponents to just 21 total singles points in the match. Freshman Zana Zlebnik claimed a 6-1, 6-1 decision over the Eagle's Dawna Denny in No. 1 singles. In the No. 2 slot, Lakshmi Ravindra dropped her opponent 6-1, 6-2, and in No. 3 singles, Christine Van Regenmorter topped North Texas, Suzy Roseman 6-1, 6-3.

Also earning singles wins were Sarada Ravindra in No. 5 and Misty Meyer in No. 6. L. Ravindra and Van Regenmorter returned with Tech's lone doubles victory. The squad heads into a pair of Big 12 matches this weekend, playing Iowa on Saturday and Iowa State Sunday.
