COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The Texas Tech women's team fell to 12th-ranked Texas A&M yesterday, 7-0 in front of the largest crowd Tech has seen this year, 551. Tech drops to 7-7 overall and 3-6 in league play. A&M improves to 14-3 overall and 4-1 in league play.

A&M started strong by taking the doubles point. The tough duo of Irina Tereschenko and Beverly Dawson for Tech lost for the first time in three-matches. The combo fell to 11-3 overall and 6-3 in Big 12 action.

In singles action, the Red Raiders fell in all six singles matches. Each match went in straight sets, but sophomore Sonnia Orellana fell in three-sets. She competed in position No. 4 against Roberta Spencer and took the first match, 6-4, but dropped the remaining two, 6-3, 6-2.

The Red Raiders will return to action on Saturday, April 7 in Las Cruces, NM, to battle New Mexico State.
