Women's Tennis Loses to Texas 8-1|

AUSTIN, Texas - The Texas Tech women's tennis team fell 8-1 to No. 5 Texas in Big 12 Conference action Saturday at the Penick-Allison Tennis Center in Austin. The Red Raiders captured just one doubles point to move to 9-10 overall and 4-6 in the Big 12.
In the final conference match of the season, the doubles team of Misty Meyer and Sarada Ravindra defeated the Longhorn's Jill Liberman and Sonia Moorthy 8-3 in the No. 3 slot. Meyer and Ravindra tallied the Red Raider's only point of the match.
Texas swept all six singles matches to clinch the team victory. Top Red Raider Zana Zlebnik, ranked No. 50 in the latest poll, was dropped in two sets, 7-6, 6-2, to No. 28 Christina Moros. The Tech squad will have face one final opponent in Abilene Christian on Monday at 6:30 pm in the Athletic Training Center. The match is being made up from a cancellation earlier in the year. Thursday, the Red Raiders begin play at the Big 12 Conference tournament in Lincoln, Nebraska.
