LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech women's tennis team faced number one-seeded Texas at the Big 12 Tennis Championships in College Station, Texas, today, losing to the Longhorns, 5-1.

In singles, Tech picked up one point at the No 3 position. Barbara Schraml won her match against Texas' Joanne Masongsong when she retired because of injury. No.

The No. 1 doubles tandem of Irina Tereschenko and Beverly Dawson was defeated by 29th-ranked Vladka Uhlirova and Ziva Grasic, 8-4, and the No. 2 team of Noel Ruiz and Schraml was defeated by Lindsay Blau and Kaysie Smashey, 8-1.
