Lady Raiders Complete Day Two of Miner Fall Invitational

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech women's tennis team completed the second day of competition in El Paso, Texas, at the Miner Fall Invitational. The Lady Raiders defeated Lee College (5-2) before cruising past UTEP (6-1). In singles action, Tech's Tara Browning lost her first match of the fall season losing to Lee College's Loli Aguirre-Gomez. Katja Kovacic and Erin Hunter remained unbeaten defeating their opponents in straight sets (6-2, 6-1) and (6-4, 6-1), while freshman Cigdem Duru and sophomore Lakann Wagley each posted their second win of the season. Against the Miners, Tech continued to dominate by winning five out of six single's matches and sweeping doubles play. The Duo of Browning and Duru improved to (4-0), while Hunter and Kovacic also remained undefeated in doubles play. The Lady Raiders will continue to compete tomorrow as they take on Northern Arizona on the final day of competition. Tech is set to participate in the Roberta Allison Invitational next weekend (Sept. 24-26).
