Adams, Kilgo Pace Lady Raiders In Arkansas
Kenna Kilgo stayed undefeated in Arkansas with a pair of wins on Saturday. September 22, 2012 LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - Samantha Adams and Kenna Kilgo kept up their strong play at the Little Rock Invitational, while Rashmi Teltumbde and Nikki Sanders pulled the upset in Las Vegas Saturday. The nationally-ranked doubles tandem of Adams and Kilgo toppled Oklahoma's Whitney Ritchie and Emma Devine, 8-1, for Texas Tech's only doubles win against the Sooners on Saturday. The Lady Raiders then picked up singles wins against Arkansas in the hidden dual format from Adams, Kilgo and freshman Kelli Hine. No. 76 Adams dropped Yang Pang, 6-4, 6-2, while Kilgo defeated Claudine Paulson, 6-3, 4-6, 7-5. Hine then bested Kristen Mee, 6-1, 6-2. At the UNLV Fall Invitational in Las Vegas, the doubles duo of Teltumbde and Sanders upset No. 26 Aleksandra Josifoska and Nives Pavlovic of UNLV, 8-6 to advance to the Flight One finals. Teltumbde fell to Josifoska, 4-6, 6-2, 7-5 in the Flight One semifnals, while Sanders upended Long Beach State's Ebba Unden, 6-0, 6-2. Texas Tech will close out play at both events on Sunday.
