Sanders Advances To Third Round Of Pre-Qualifying|
Nikki Sanders picked up a pair of wins to advance to the third round of pre-qualifying.

LOS ANGELES - Texas Tech's Nikki Sanders advanced to the third round of pre-qualifying of the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships on Saturday at the Los Angeles Tennis Club.
Sanders, who is ranked No. 113 nationally, topped Clemson's Jessy Rompies, 5-7, 6-1, 6-2 in the first round and then ousted Memphis' Skylar Kuykendall, 6-2, 6-1 in the second round.
A native of Ontario, Calif., Sanders is playing just an hour from her hometown. She will face Texas' Ratnika Batra at 11 a.m. CT in the third round of prequalifying. The winner will advance to the qualifying round of the All-American.
Kenna Kilgo, who is ranked No. 98, was not as lucky on Saturday. She won her first round match over Eastern Michigan's Nino Mebuke, 6-1, 6-3, but came up short against North Carolina's Jamie Loeb, 6-3, 6-1, in the second round.
In prequalifying doubles, Sanders and Sarah Toti fell in the first round to Loeb and Haley Carter, 8-1.
Samantha Adams, who is ranked No. 61 nationally in singles, will begin play in qualifying singles, which starts on Tuesday.
Adams and Kilgo, who are ranked No. 9 nationally, will begin play in the main draw of doubles play on Thursday.
