Rashmi Teltumbde fell in the first round of the ITA All-American Women's Tennis Championships.

LOS ANGELES – Texas Tech’s Rashmi Teltumbde fell to New Mexico’s Michaela Bezdikova, 6-3, 6-1 in the first round of pre-qualifying at the Riviera/ITA All-American Women’s Tennis Championships held at the LA Tennis Club on Saturday.

Teltumbde, who is ranked No. 105 nationally, was upset by the unranked Bezdikova.

Texas Tech’s Samantha Adams, who is ranked No. 76, will begin play in the qualifying round of the singles competition of the event on Tuesday. Adams and doubles partner Kenna Kilgo, who are ranked No. 6 nationally, will begin play on Oct. 4 in the main draw of the event.
