Samantha Adams Splits Matches At All-American
 

Samantha Adams split a pair of singles matches on Tuesday in Los Angeles.

LOS ANGELES - Texas Tech's Samantha Adams split a pair of matches on Tuesday at the Riviera/ITA All-American Women's Tennis Championships held at the Riviera Tennis Club.

Adams, who is ranked No. 76 in the nation, fell to Florida's No. 32 Sofie Oyen, 6-2, 6-1, in the first round of qualifying. Oyen was seeded sixth in qualifying.

The Texas Tech junior then turned around and immediately upended No. 58 Brooke Bolender of Michigan, 6-2, 6-3, in the consolation first round.

Adams returns to action on Wednesday at the prestigious event to continue play in the second round of the consolation singles draw. She is also entered in the main draw of the event with teammate Kenna Kilgo in doubles. The duo begins play on Thursday.
