Samantha Adams lost an epic battle to No. 36 Alexa Guarachi on Wednesday.

LOS ANGELES – Texas Tech’s No. 76 Samantha Adams lost an epic battle on Wednesday to Alabama’s No. 36 Alexa Guarachi, 6-7 (7-2), 6-2, 7-6 (7-3) in the consolation second round at the Riviera/ITA All-American Women’s Tennis Championships held at the Riviera Tennis Club.

Adams will regroup and team with Kenna Kilgo for the main draw of the doubles competition on Thursday. Adams and Kilgo, who are ranked No. 6 nationally, are also seeded sixth in the event. The tandem have a bye in the main draw.
