Adams-Kilgo Duo Fall In Quarterfinals At All-American

LOS ANGELES – USC’s unseeded duo of Giuliana Olmos and Zoë Scandalis continued their run on Friday with an 8-4 win over the eighth-seeded duo of Samantha Adams and Kenna Kilgo of Texas Tech at the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships at the Riviera Tennis Club.

Olmos and Scandalis, who are ranked No. 54, lost in the first round of pre-qualifying, but were awarded a “lucky loser” bid into the qualifying draw and have not looked back, as the tandem topped the No. 9 team of Adams and Kilgo, 8-4, to advance to the semifinals of the event.

Adams and Kilgo were the last of the eight seeds alive. At the end of play on Friday, all three remaining seeded teams had be eliminated.

Texas Tech’s Adams and Kilgo will return to action Oct. 17, when the Lady Raiders travel to Fort Worth for the ITA Texas Regional Championships.
