Lady Raiders Capture A Pair Of Doubles Titles In Colorado
Elizabeth Ullathorne teamed with Nikki Sanders to win the Flight A Doubles title on Saturday. October 6, 2012 COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Texas Tech captured a pair of doubles titles on Saturday at the 2012 U.S. Air Force Academy Women's Tennis Invitational and won all seven matches on the day. Nikki Sanders and Elizabeth Ullathorne teamed to win the Flight A Doubles crown, while Caroline Starck and Sandra Dynka won the Flight B title on Saturday. Sanders and Ullathorne defeated Denver's Sophia Bergner and Steffi Rath, 9-7, in the semifinals and then cruised past Air Force's Melissa Cecil and Hannah Dake, 8-3 in the Flight A final. Starck and Dynka battled to a 9-7 win over Silviya Zhelyazkova and Jessica Parizher of Wyoming of the Flight B Doubles semifinals, before downing the Illinois tandem of Julia Jamieson and Audrey O'Connor , 8-3 in the final. In singles play, Sanders, Ullathorne and Dynka each advanced to the semifinals in their respective flights after straight-set wins on Saturday. Texas Tech improved to 12-1 overall in matches in tournament. Play will resume on Sunday morning. 2012 U.S. Air Force Academy Women's Tennis Invitational
