Sanders, Ullathorne, Dynka Capture Titles In Colorado
Nikki Sanders was one of three Lady Raiders to win her flight on Sunday in Colorado Springs. October 7, 2012 COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Texas Tech trio of Nikki Sanders, Elizabeth Ullathorne and Sandra Dynka each captured singles titles in their respective flights on Sunday at the 2012 U.S. Air Force Academy Women’s Tennis Invitational. This was a day after the Lady Raiders won two doubles titles at the event on Saturday. In all, Texas Tech was 19-1 at the event. In Flight B Singles, Sanders defeated Oklahoma State’s CC Sardinha in the semifinals before upending Klara Supejova of Eastern Michigan in the finals, 6-2, 6-4. Ullathorne captured the Flight D title after a straight-set win over Eastern Michigan’s Daphne Friendrichs, 6-2, 6-0, to set up a 6-3, 6-3 win over Washington State’s Elizaveta Luzina. In Flight E, Dynka rolled to a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Arizona’s Hailey Johnson in the semifinals and then bested Wyoming’s Christa Gecheva, 6-2, 6-4 in the final. Caroline Starck won her consolation match on Sunday with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Denver’s Emma Isberg. In Los Angeles, the Texas Tech doubles tandem of Samantha Adams and Kenna Kilgo lost to Florida’s tandem of Danielle Collins and Lauren Embree, 9-7, in the consolation of the main draw of the Riviera/ITA All-American Women’s Tennis Championships. 2012 U.S. Air Force Academy Women’s Tennis Invitational Riviera/ITA All-American Women’s Tennis Championships
