Kelli Hine Wins Pair Of Matches To Lead Texas Tech in Albuquerque
Freshman Kelli Hine imprvoed to 5-1 on the season with her win Friday. November 2, 2012 Albuquerque, N.M. – Texas Tech freshman Kelli Hine continued her winning ways on Friday at the 2012 UNM Fall Invitational at the Linda Estes Tennis Center. Hine dropped South Carolina’s Josefin Andersson, 6-3, 6-3, in the Silver Singles bracket to advance to the semifinals. The win improved her to 5-1 on the fall season. She then teamed with freshman Sofya Malysheva to defeat the New Mexico tandem of Michaela Oldani and Nikolina Grbac, 8-5. Hine is now 5-1 in doubles action, including a pair of ranked wins. Tech’s Kendall Warren added a 6-4, 6-4 win over UTEP’s Dariya Abdrakhamanova to advance to the semifnals of the Black Singles draw. Malysheva was not as lucky in singles, as South Carolina’s Jaklin Alwai pulled out a 6-2, 6-3 over the freshman. The trio of Lady Raiders return to action at 10 a.m. on Saturday. 2012 UNM Fall Invitational
