Zlebnik Advances to Quarterfinals in Rolex Invitational

Freshman Wins Third and Fourth Round Matches

Red Raider freshman Zana Zlebnik won her third and fourth round matches today at the ITA Rolex Southwest Regional Tennis Championships. She will advance to the quarterfinals tomorrow against second seed Barbara Navarro of Baylor.

In third-round action, Zlebnik defeated Brandy Brown of Arkansas 7-5, 6-4. Zlebnik then upset night seed Suzanne Andersson Houston 6-3, 6-3 in the fourth round.

"Ana has had a tremendous breakthrough in this tournament. She has demonstrated a lot of poise this week," Texas Tech Head Tennis Coach Tim Siegel said.

The tournament winner will qualify for the ITA Rolex National Championships.
