Lady Raiders Enter Spring Season Ranked No. 18 In ITA|

LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech Lady Raider Tennis will begin defense of its back-to-back Big 12 titles as the No. 18 team in the nation, according to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings released this week.
The Lady Raiders will start the season right where they left off last year – No. 18. It is the highest preseason ranking in program history. Last season, Texas Tech began the season No. 21 and climbed as high as No. 15 before finishing the year No. 18.
Individually, Texas Tech is led by junior Kenna Kilgo, who earned the highest ranking of her career at No. 58. Her previous best was No. 86 in March of last year. This also marks the first time the junior has been ranked in singles in the preseason.
Also earning a preseason singles ranking is Texas Tech freshman standout Lynn Kiro who was 8-3 in singles this past fall. Kiro earned her first national nod at No. 92.
In doubles, the dynamic duo of Kilgo and Samantha Adams enters the spring at No. 25. It marks the third straight season this tandem has been ranked in the ITA Doubles Top 25. Last season, Adams and Kilgo advanced to the NCAA Doubles Championships for the second straight year and were ranked as high as No. 6 nationally before finishing the season No. 20.
Texas Tech opens the season on Jan. 18 with a doubleheader against Wyoming and Texas State.
