No. 61 Women's Tennis Travels to Face UTEP, New Mexico
Feb. 9, 2006 Lubbock, Texas - Texas Tech women's tennis will be traveling to Albuquerque, N.M. this weekend to face UTEP on Sat., Feb. 11, at 12 p.m., and New Mexico on Sun., Feb. 12, at 12 p.m. The Lady Raiders have started the season out with a 3-0 record with victories coming at the hands of Abilene Christian, Prairie View A&M and No. 67 Kansas State. The squad is currently ranked 61st in the nation. Tara Browning is seated at No. 75 in singles play and the doubles pair of Katja Kovacic and Erin Hunter is listed at No. 23 in the nation. UTEP is currently 4-2 on the season. This will be the 13th match-up between the two teams. Tech leads the series with the Miners, 10-2. The Lobos of New Mexico are currently ranked No. 39 in the ITA poll and are sitting at 2-1 on the season. This is the 18th meeting between the Lady Raiders and the Lobos and Tech leads the series with New Mexico, 9-8. This weekend's trip will begin a grueling six-week roadstand for the squad.
