LUBBOCK, Texas – No. 19 Texas Tech is set to host three matches this weekend at the McLeod Tennis Center.

The Lady Raiders (5-1) will face Arizona (7-0) on Friday at 2:30 p.m. On Saturday, Arizona will take on Georgia State (2-3) at noon. The Lady Raiders return to action on Sunday, when Texas Tech hosts Georgia State at 11 a.m. and New Mexico (5-1) at 5 p.m.

The Lady Raiders are on a three-match winning streak and are looking to sweep this weekend. If Texas Tech can sweep the weekend, the Lady Raiders will be off to its best start since 1987.

Head coach Todd Petty said Lady Raiders’ focus this weekend will be on its mental game.

“I think it’s probably going to be more mental,” Petty said. “Getting up for a team dual and then coming down and having to get up again in the same day is more of a mental task.”

When looking at his team, Petty believes fans should keep a close eye on Kenna Kilgo, Samantha Adams and Lynn Kiro.

Adams, team captain, has not lost this spring and is looking to continue her success.

Petty believes the fans have been a big reason for the Lady Raiders’ kick start to the season, even earning a record their own.

“We’ve had a pretty good home record for the last three years and a lot of that has to do with our fans’ support,” Petty said. “The great thing is that we’ve had some of the top attendance records in the country in the last two years.”

At Friday’s match against Arizona, Texas Tech will have several promotions, including ‘Doubles’ Date with Lady Raider Tennis. We did all the work and already planned your date. There will be pizza and Valentine’s Day cookies. Fans will also have a chance to win an autographed football from Red Raider head football coach Kliff Kingsbury, as well as a Kingsbury bobble head doll. Fans can also participate in a $500 tennis ball toss.
