Women's Tennis Goes Down To The Wire February 12, 1999 LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech women's tennis team lost to Mew Mexico State University 5-4 on Friday at the Nautilus Golf Club. The contest was not decided until the final doubles match in which NMSU's Shannon Lind and Elke Blodau defeated Noel Ruiz and Ghislaine Hernandez 8-1. The Red Raiders captured two singles and two doubles matches while NMSU took four singles and one doubles. The loss drops Tech's record to 1-4 overall (0-1 in the Big 12). Tech's Zana Zlebnik ended a personal three match losing streak, defeating Simone Bremicker 5-7, 6-2, 6-4 in #1 singles. Noel Ruiz (TT) also won for the first time this season in singles competition. The Red Raiders will be in action again on Sunday, February 14 at 9:00 am against Colorado Stae University. The match will be indoors at the ATC. Admission is free. Singles: 1. Zana Zlebnik (TT) def.
