No. 21 Lady Raiders Headed To Alabama For Blue Gray|

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - No. 21 Texas Tech is off to its best start in 27 years and the Lady Raiders look to extend that success at the prestigious National Blue Gray Tennis Classic this weekend at the Lagoon Park Tennis Center.
Texas Tech (8-1), who is making its first appearance in the National Blue Gray Tennis Classic, opens the three-day event against No. 36 Yale (3-2) at 4 p.m. It's the first-ever meeting between the two schools.
The Lady Raiders have been paced this season by No. 110 Nikki Sanders and No. 115 Kenna Kilgo. Sanders is an impressive 16-5 on the season and 7-0 at No. 3 singles, while Kilgo is 12-6 overall and 4-4 at No. 1 singles. Rashmi Teltumbde has been holding down the No. 2 position and is 9-4 on the season. Lynn Kiro (13-5) plays at No. 4, while Samantha Adams (12-6) has secured the No. 5 spot with a 10-match winning streak. The No. 6 spot has been filled by Samantha Czarniak Rego, Beatriz Santos Machado and Sarah Toti.
Doubles has been paced by No. 37 Adams and Kilgo, who are 14-4 on the season and 6-2 at No. 1. Teltumbde and Sanders are 9-2 this season and 7-1 at No. 2, while Kiro and Toti have gone 9-3 this season, including 4-1 at No. 3.
Texas Tech will face either No. 14 Alabama or No. 42 Illinois on Saturday.
