LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech women's tennis team, 6-3, 2-3, look to snap a two-match losing streak against Kansas State, 4-4, 1-0 in Manhattan, Kansas, on at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 10. The Wildcats are coming off a win against conference opponent Iowa State.

"We were disappointed with our play against Colorado," said head coach Virginia Brown. "The team has had a good week of practice and I expect us to return to our play from the beginning of the season."

Tech's freshmen are shining this season as they are making an impact in the early part of the season. In the No. 1 position Irina Tereschenko continues to lead the team with a 7-2 record, 3-2 in league play. Tereschenko fell last weekend for the first time in the No. 1 position to Colorado's Dominique Lempene.

Freshman, Stephanie Mueller snapped a skid of three straight losses to start the season. She defeated Sarah Austin in the No. 5 position.

The Red Raiders return to the Lone Star State on Monday, March 12 in Dallas, Texas, to take-on the SMU Mustangs.
