Men's and Women's Teams Move Up in National Rankings




LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech men's and women's tennis teams broke the national rankings Wednesday as both teams improved in the rankings.

Zana Zlebnik, the No. 1 singles player for the Red Raider women's team from Maribor, Slovenia, moved up from not being ranked to No. 40 in the country. Zlebnik is undefeated in both conference play (5-0) and overall play (8-0) and has beaten players ranked ahead of her. Zlebnik, along with sophomore Amanda Earhart both moved up on the doubles rankings into the 49th spot. The Texas Tech No. 1 doubles duo is 7-1 on the season.

The Texas Tech women's tennis team (6-2) is ranked No. 66 in NCAA Division I and moved up from No. 73. The Red Raiders received 55 total votes.

The Texas Tech men's tennis team (6-6) is ranked No. 71 in the nation with 54 total votes.

Women's Match- Texas Tech vs. Louisville at Abilene Christian University in Abilene, Texas;
Tuesday, March 17:
Men's Match- Texas Tech vs. UT Arlington, 1 p.m. at Lakeridge Country Club.
