LUBBOCK, TX - The Texas Tech women's team won two conference matches and a nonconference match over the weekend with wins over Kansas, Kansas State, and Kentucky.

On Sunday, Texas Tech (12-3, 2-0) earned their second conference win of the young season with a 7-0 victory over the Kansas State Wildcats.

Texas Tech swept the doubles matches for the first point of the match. Caroline Starck and Nikki Sanders beat Petra Chuda and Ana Gomez at No. 2 doubles, 8-3. Lady Raiders Samantha Adams and Kelsy Garland gave Texas Tech the doubles point with their 8-6 win over Petra Neidermayerova and Nina Sertic at No. 1 doubles. Elizabeth Ullathorne and Haley Fournier completed the doubles sweep with an 8-5 win at No. 3 doubles over Antea Huljev and Carmen Borau.

Freshman Haley Fournier won her No. 4 singles match in two sets over Petra Chuda, 6-0, 6-2. Nikki Sanders followed with a win at No. 6 singles in two sets over Carmen Borau, 6-2, 6-0. Sophomore Elizabeth Ullathorne topped Petra Neidermayerova at the No. 1 singles spot, 6-4, 6-1, to clinch the victory for Texas Tech.

Veteran Kelsy Garland won her No. 5 singles match over Nina Sertic, 6-3, 6-1, to increase Texas Tech's lead to 5-0 over Kansas State. Sophomore Caroline Starck defeated Ana Gomez at No. 3 singles, 6-2, 6-2. After dropping the first set to Antea Huljev, 6-4, freshman Samantha Adams won the second set, 7-5, and then captured the tiebreaker, 10-2, to complete the match sweep for Texas Tech.
