Texas Tech Earns Second Highest Ranking In Program History

Samantha Adams is ranked in both singles and doubles by the ITA this week.

LUBBOCK, Texas - With the addition of three wins under their belt from last week, Texas Tech climbed to its second highest position ever in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Top 75 Poll, as the Lady Raiders moved up two spots to No. 18 this week.

The No. 18 ranking is one spot short of the school record No. 17 ranking Texas Tech earned on March 13, 2012.

The Lady Raiders are the highest ranked team in the Big 12, followed by No. 24 Texas, No. 25 Oklahoma State, No. 34 Baylor, No. 39 Oklahoma and No. 42 TCU.

Lady Raider Samantha Adams, who is 13-15 overall (2-1 Big 12), jumped back into the Top 125 in singles at No. 117, while Kenna Kilgo, who was ranked No. 118, fell out of the Top 125.

The doubles tandem of Adams and Kilgo jumped from 34 to 27 this week. Adams and Kilgo are 17-6 (3-0 Big 12) overall this season and have won nine straight matches.
