HOUSTON - The Texas Tech women's tennis team fell 7-2 to the Rice University Owls in action this afternoon in Houston. The loss sends Tech to an overall record of 3-13.

The Red Raiders got their only point in singles play from the No. 2 position where Ayako Suzuki defeated Charlotte Feasty in two sets, 7-6, 6-2. In doubles play the combo of Suzuki and Amanda Earhart defeated Feasty and Erin Waters by a count of 8-2 to give Tech their other point.

The women continue their road trip tomorrow when they play Houston at 11 a.m.
