Samantha Adams earned her third career player of the week honor from the Big 12 Conference.

IRVING, Texas – Texas Tech’s Samantha Adams has been named the Big 12 Conference Women’s Tennis Player of the Week for matches ending Apr. 1, announced league officials on Tuesday.
This is the second time this season that the New Braunfels junior has won the award this season and the third time in her career at Texas Tech. She is the first Lady Raider to win the award twice in one season.
Adams led Texas Tech to a 6-1 win over No. 25 Oklahoma State, improving the Lady Raiders to 14-4 overall and 4-0 in the Big 12. It was a school record 17th straight home win for Texas Tech.
Adams, who is ranked No. 117, upset No. 60 Malika Rose in straight sets at No. 1 singles and teamed with Kenna Kilgo to upend the No. 48 duo of Rose and Kanyapat Narattana, 8-3, at No. 1 doubles. The win for the No. 27 Adams-Kilgo tandem was their 10th straight and improved the duo to 18-6 on the season and 14-3 in dual matches. In singles competition, Adams is now 14-15 overall and 7-11 in dual matches.
