AUSTIN, Texas – First place in Big 12 Conference women’s tennis is on the line when No. 15 Texas Tech travels to face No. 24 Texas at Penick-Allison Tennis Center on Saturday at 2 p.m.

Texas Tech (14-4, 4-0 Big 12) won the league last season, despite suffering just one conference loss – in Austin to Texas.  The Longhorns (9-8, 4-0 Big 12) are picked to win the Big 12 this season and advanced to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Championships last season.

“I feel like we are playing some of our best tennis of season right now,” said Lady Raider head coach Todd Petty. “If we are going to have any success in Austin, we need to carry that momentum with us into Austin.”

This is a battle of the two top-ranked programs in the Big 12 this season, but it also features two of the top ranked doubles teams in the league – Texas’ Breaunna Addison and Noel Scott (No. 16) and Texas Tech’s Samantha Adams and Kenna Kilgo (No. 27).

In singles, Texas features No. 41 Aerial Ellis and No. 50 Addison, while Tech is paced by Big 12 Player of the Week No. 117 Adams.
