LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech women's tennis team heads to Waco, Texas, on Fri., April 8, and College Station, Texas, on Sat., April 9. The No. 57 Lady Raiders face the No. 15 Bears on Friday at 5 p.m. and they will take on the No. 37 Aggies at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Tech is ranked No. 57 in the latest rankings, jumping 18 spots since the last ranking. Junior Tara Browning and sophomore Lakann Wagley came in at No. 26 for the doubles ranking.

"We were glad to see the team move up in the rankings," said head coach Cari Groce. "And of course anytime individuals can garner a singles or doubles rankings you are happy. Tara and Lakann worked all summer together to build a strong chemistry and the hard work is paying off for them. It is nice to see Texas Tech in the rankings but we still have alot of hard work to do and many tough matches left to play, so we are not going to think another minute about the ranking, just the next match is what concerns us."

The Lady Raiders go into the weekend at 7-9 and 4-3 in conference play.

"This weekend is another tough road trip against two strong opponents," said Groce. "We will continue to prepare for these matches the same way we have been preparing all year long. Lots of balls hit and lots of mental preparation goes into getting ready."
