No. 55 Women's Tennis Faces No. 15 Texas in Austin
April 6, 2006 Lubbock, Texas - No. 55 Texas Tech women's tennis will face No.15 Texas, in Austin, at the Penick-Allison Tennis Center, Sat., April 8, at 1 p.m. The Lady Raiders are currently sitting at 12-6 overall and 5-3 in Big 12 play. The Lady Raiders have won seven of their last nine contests and were riding a seven-match win streak before being swept by Texas A&M, 7-0, and falling to Baylor, 6-1, in Lubbock last weekend. Cigdem Duru leads the Lady Raiders in singles play with a record of 10-5 playing at the No. 2 position. Duru, teamed up with Janet Durham, has compiled a doubles record of 12-3 playing at No. 2 and No. 3. The Longhorns, sitting at No. 15 in the current ITA poll, have established a record of 11-8 and 5-0 in Big 12 action. Texas has won three consecutive matches and will face No. 41 Texas A&M, Thurs., April 6, at 6:30 p.m. in the State Farm Showdown.
