LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech women's tennis team will conclude its 2001 regular season campaign this season on Saturday, April 14 against New Mexico State in Las Cruces, New Mexico, at 10 a.m. and will battle UTEP on Sunday, April 15 in El Paso, Texas, at 10 a.m. to conclude regular season play.

Tech enters the weekend 8-9 overall and 3-8 in Big 12 action. The Red Raiders concluded regular season conference play last week against Texas A&M in College Station, Texas. A&M won the decision, 7-0.

Last Friday the squad rebounded by defeating Sam Houston State, 7-0. This was the fourth shutout by the Red Raiders this season.

New Mexico State enters the weekend 11-7 coming off a home win over Hawaii last week, 4-3. The Aggies lost the doubles point, but rebounded in singles to take the match.

No. 68 UTEP is coming off a 4-3 loss against 57th-ranked Nevada in El Paso. The Miners are 9-8 overall and are posting a 5-3 record on home turf. Ana Brnas leads the squad with a 24-7 record with most of her matches coming in the No. 2 position.

Following this weekend's matches the Red Raiders swing back into action in Waco, Texas, at the Big 12 Tourney on the Baylor campus, April 26-28.
