LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech women's tennis team will host Oklahoma State tomorrow in its final regular-season match at the McLeod Tennis Center at 10 a.m.

The 57th-ranked Red Raiders are heading into the match with an overall record of 9-11, 4-6 in Big 12 play, while the 42nd-ranked Cowboys are 11-10 on the season, 5-5 in the Big 12.

Last week, Tech got a huge when over Baylor when they upset the Bears, 5-2. The Red Raiders started the day by winning the doubles point when the No. 1 doubles tandem of Irina Tereschenko and Beverly Dawson, and the No. 3 team of Alenka Ovin and Kendall Brooks both won their matches.

In singles, Tech picked up four out of six points. No. 1 Tereschenko was defeated by 49th-ranked Kovac of Baylor, 3-6, 6-4, 6-1, but the match was decided when No. 6 Brooks defeated Paola Stephen in three sets, 6-3, 4-6, 6-4.

Dawson was named Big 12 Player of the Week for April 8-14, after defeating Baylor's Frida Borjesson, 6-2, 6-7, 6-4. Dawson, a junior from Odessa, Texas, teamed with Tereschenko, make-up the No. 1 doubles tandem for Tech and are 12-7 on the season, 7-3 in the Big 12.

The No. 3 tandem of Ovin and Brooks has an overall record of 14-4, 8-2 in Big 12 play. The duo has played at the No. 2 and No. 3 positions this season and after the win over Baylor, is on a five-game winning streak at the No. 3 position.

Tech heads to the Big 12 Tennis Championships next weekend, April 25-28, in College Station, Texas.
