LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech University women's tennis team had two student-athletes named to the 1999 Women's Tennis Academic All-Big 12 Team.

Senior Misty Meyer (Biology) and sophomore Zana Zlebnik (Political Science) were named First Team Academic All-Big 12.

Meyer has played from No. 3 to No. 6 singles and No. 2 and No. 3 doubles for the Red Raiders this season. In singles she has posted a 2-16 overall record and in doubles competition she has a record of 4-11, playing with three different partners. Zlebnik has played No. 1 singles all season and No. 1 and No. 2 doubles. She owns an overall singles mark of 7-13. Playing with two different partners, Zlebnik has gone 5-15 in doubles play.

Nominated by the directors of student-athlete support services and the athletic media relations directors, members of the all-academic team have posted at least a 3.2 grade point average either cumulative or the previous two academic semesters and are regulars (letterwinners) on their respective teams. Student-athletes with a grade point average between 3.0-3.19 are listed as honorable mention academic all-conference.

Texas Tech is 4-16 (2-9 in Big 12) this season and will head to the Big 12 Championship in College Station on April 29 - May 2.
