Lady Raiders Doubles Tandems Tops In Big 12 Conference|

IRVING, Texas – The Texas Tech tandems of Samantha Adams-Kenna Kilgo and Rashmi Teltumbde-Elizabeth Ullathorne have earned Big 12 Conference doubles tennis titles for finishing with the top records at their respective positions in league matches.
Adams and Kilgo are currently the No. 28 doubles duo in the nation. The pair finished Big 12 play with an overall record of 7-1 at No. 1 doubles, earning the league’s top spot. Adams and Kilgo are 25-7 overall and 18-5 in dual matches. They are the highest ranked Lady Raider doubles tandem in program history. The pair has also established records for dual match victories by position – 18 at No. 1 doubles, breaking the standard set by Annmarie Wilson and Paula Brigance in 1987.
Teltumbde and Ullathorne finished the season a perfect 8-0 at No. 3 doubles in Big 12 matches. Their eight wins were the most of any doubles tandem in the Big 12 this season. Overall, Teltumbde and Ullathorne finished the spring 21-3 and 19-3 in dual matches. The duo’s 87.5 percent winning percentage is the highest in Texas Tech history. Ullathorne set the single-season standard for doubles wins at No. 3 with 20 and doubles wins in the spring with 23.
The Lady Raiders will now await the NCAA selection committee, who will announce the field for the 2012 NCAA Championships on Tuesday.
