Lady Raider Tennis Recruiting Class Ranked 16th Nationally

Todd Petty landed the highest ranked recruiting class in program history.

June 3, 2013

LUBBOCK, Texas - Coming off of back-to-back Big 12 titles, two trips to the NCAA Championships and the highest ranking in program history, Texas Tech Lady Raider Tennis picked up another milestone on Monday, as the program's recruiting class was ranked 16th nationally by TennisRecruiting.net.

The Lady Raiders, led by head coach Todd Petty, were ranked 16th in large part to the signing of four players from four continents - Lynn Kiro (Cape Town, South Africa), Beatriz Machado Santos (Lisbon, Portugal), Samantha Czarniak Rego (São Paulo, Brazil) and Tennessee transfer Sarah Toti (Las Vegas, Nev.).

The ranking is the highest in program history, eclipsing the previous high of No. 19, which included current standouts Samantha Adams and Nikki Sanders in 2010.

The Lady Raiders were also one of only two Big 12 schools to earn a Top 25 recruiting class, joining Oklahoma State, who came in at No. 4. TCU (No. 26) and Baylor (No. 30) finished just outside the Top 25.
