Alenka Ovin and Amanda Earhart both easily advanced to the quarterfinals of the TCU Tournament on Saturday in Fort Worth, Texas. Ovin and Earhart are the only players from Texas Tech competing in the tournament.

Ovin defeated Jana Sedivec of the University of Texas-Austin in straight sets 6-1, 6-1 in the first round. She moved on to the quarterfinals by shutting out Jennie Hamilton of Oklahoma University 6-0, 6-0.

Earhart won her first match over Marie Stepanova of the University of Texas-Austin by default. She returned later in the day to beat Lindsay Bruce of Southern Methodist University in straight sets 6-2, 6-2.

Both women will continue play on Saturday.
