TULSA, Okla. - The Texas Tech women's tennis team completed play at the Hurricane Invitational Tennis Tournament hosted by the University of Tulsa Sunday afternoon. Sophomore Noel Ruiz provided a strong performance for the Red Raider squad, winning two of her three matches in the flight "4" portion of the tournament. Ruiz placed sixth overall in the bracket.

After losing her first round match against Joni Jordan of Missouri 6-1, 6-0, Ruiz rebounded to beat Tulsa's Sandra Sailer of Tulsa 6-2, 7-6(4). In her final match Ruiz beat Sara Love Swaney of Southern Methodist in straight sets 6-1, 6-1.

In the doubles competition Ruiz and teammate Sonia Orellano continued their winning ways with a sixth place finish in the flight "2" doubles competition. The Texas Tech duo lost their first match 8-4 but rebounded to win their next two matches by scores of 8-4 and 9-8(7-5).
