Texas Tech Volleyball to Host Oklahoma at Coronado High School
Red Raiders Continue Big 12 Play on Saturday against Sooners
LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech volleyball team will host Oklahoma Saturday at 7 p.m. at Coronado High School. Tech is playing at Coronado because of a scheduling conflict.
Texas Tech enters the match with a 4-3 Big 12 and 17-4 record after defeating Baylor on Wednesday 3-1. Head coach Jeff Nelson is excited to play at Coronado High School.
"It's a good opportunity and we're excited to be there," Nelson said. "I think it will be great to promote volleyball and our thing since we arrived here was to be out in the community. Coronado's been one of our biggest supporters in terms of our camps and different things. It's a good opportunity to give back to the community and go over there and play."
Oklahoma (3-3 Big 12, 9-8) enters its Saturday matchup with Tech after winning three of its last four matches. The Sooners defeated No. 5 Nebraska last Friday in three straight games but lost to No. 22 Colorado in five games on Saturday. Oklahoma is led by Melissa Peterson (264 kills/.203 pct.) and Patrice Arlington (296 kills/.294 pct.).
Tech travels to Colorado and Nebraska on October 24-25 and then hosts the USA National Team for an exhibition match on Monday, October 27 in Lubbock Municipal Coliseum at 7:00 p.m.
