Volleyball Travels to Texas A&M, Texas and Nebraska

Red Raiders will play the three top nationally ranked Big 12 teams in row and on the road

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech volleyball team will take to the road for the weekend as the Red Raiders will travel to No. 14 Texas A&M (Nov. 7) and College Station on Friday for a 7 p.m. start and to No. 8 Texas (Nov. 8) on Saturday for a 3 p.m. start. The Texas match will be broadcast by Fox Sports Southwest and will be aired on Sunday, Nov. 8 at noon and on Wednesday, Nov. 12 at 1 p.m.

The following Tuesday (Nov. 11), Tech will play at No. 13 Nebraska in a match that was postponed earlier in the season (Oct. 25) because the Red Raiders were snowed in in Colorado.

Texas Tech (6-5 Big 12, 19-6) enters the contests needing victories to help itself in consideration for NCAA postseason competition. Both Texas and Texas A&M defeated the Red Raiders 3-1 at home in the schools' first matchup.

Texas A&M (9-3 Big 12, 17-5) enters the weekend after having won its last three matches. The Aggies are led by Kristie Smedsrud (3.63 kills per game) and Stacy Sykora (3.85 kills per game).

Texas (12-0 Big 12, 18-3) leads the conference by three matches and has only lost five games in Big 12 play. The Longhorns, led by Demetria Sance (3.99 kills per game) and Katie Austin (3.06 kills per game)are on a 13-match winning streak.

Following this weekend and the Tuesday match at Nebraska, Tech plays at home in five of the last six matches.
