Texas Tech Volleyball to Travel to Nebraska on Tuesday
Red Raiders will play at No. 13 Nebraska in rescheduled road match
LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech volleyball team will travel to Nebraska on Tuesday to play the Cornhuskers in a rescheduled match at 7:30 p.m. in Lincoln. The match was rescheduled from the original match date, October 25, because Tech was stranded and snowed in for a weekend in Boulder, Colo. due to blizzard weather conditions.
Texas Tech (7-6 Big 12, 20-7) is coming off a weekend in which the Red Raiders defeated No. 14 ranked Texas A&M 3-2 and lost to Big 12 leader and No. 8 Texas 3-0. With its victory at Texas A&M, Texas Tech became the first Big 12 team to reach the 20-win plateau for the second consecutive year.
Nebraska (9-4 Big 12, 18-6) enters the match currently riding a three-match winning streak. Last year, Tech spoiled the Cornhuskers undefeated conference season with a thrilling 3-2 upset victory in Lubbock.
Tech head coach Jeff Nelson, a former Nebraska assistant coach, is 1-1 in matches against Nebraska.
The Red Raiders will return to home to play Iowa State on Friday, Nov. 14 and Missouri on Saturday, Nov. 15. Both matches are scheduled for 7 p.m. in Lubbock's Municipal Coliseum. The Missouri match will broadcast live by KKAM-Radio (1340-AM). Iowa State (0-14 Big 12, 9-18) enters the Friday match with a 16-match losing streak while Missouri (2-10 Big 12, 13-15) is currently on a five-match losing streak.
