A 2000 graduate of Arlington Heights High School in Fort Worth, Texas...played volleyball, basketball and ran track...was coached in volleyball by Jack Warren, basketball and track by T.J. Born Kelly Brooks Johnson on July 29, 1981...father, Chris, is an Executive Sales Manager in DFW area for Baker Hughes and a 1976 graduate of Texas Tech University...mother, Linda, is a flight attendant and is also a 1976 graduate of Texas Tech...has one brother, Chase...has an uncle, Kirk Johnson, who was a thrower at West Texas A&M...also had a great uncle who played for the Detroit Lions...majoring in Human Development and Family Studies with the goal of playing volleyball beyond college and pursuing a college coaching position.
