1999: Sophomore middle blocker who increased her playing time from the 1998 season...saw action in 84 games including 56 Big 12 matches...tallied 5 kills against Kansas 11/6/99

1998: Played in two matches this season off the bench ... finished with two kills and three block assists vs. Belmont ... had one kill in four attempts with a block vs. Centenary.

HIGH SCHOOL: A 1997 graduate of Liberty High School where she played volleyball for Randy Rockhold, basketball for Jim Baker and competed on the track and field team ... named All-Conference two years, All-District three years and All-Metro two years ... selected as a Kansas City Star Scholar Athlete ... named Academic All-State ... named a Sports Connection All-Star ... selected team MVP in 1995 and 1996 ... as a senior, led team to 30-3 record, Mid-Seven Conference title, along with three tournament titles.

PERSONAL: Born Kate Jury on December 5, 1978 in Smithville, Mo. ... daughter of Paul and Jennifer Jury ... has older sister, Elizabeth Duff (23) and two younger brothers, Mike (18) and Aaron (14) ... grandfather Cameron Jury played baseball with the Boston Red Sox from 1947-50 and her uncle, Cam Jury, played baseball with the Chicago Cubs (1971) ... when Nelson recruited her, she was 6-feet tall but when the staff saw her over summer orientation at Tech, she had grown and extra inch-and-a-half and gained a shoe size ... now she is 6-2 ...high school coach, Randy Rockhold is a graduate of Texas Tech ... hobbies include sports, crafts and collecting cow stuff ... career goal is to become a teacher/coach.
