QUOTING NELSON: "Courtney returns as a two-year starter and led the team in kills last year. She has a chance to be the all-time kills leader at Texas Tech. The only question mark with Courtney is her late-spring knee surgery. She seems to be recovering well and shes been working real hard on her rehab. Courtney always has the ability to put up big numbers for us. She holds the schools single-match kills record and has a number of 28, 27, 26-kill matches. Shes also a solid blocker and really worked on her defense and improved her backcourt game last year during the fall. If Courtney is 100 percent, I think our team is significantly better with her ability to put balls away and with her impact at the net. Were really pulling for her to be 100 percent and to make it through the season."
