Her size at the setter position, as well as her ball handling ability, make her a strong candidate in the setter position. Brings with her the ability to block for an added dimension in 2003. Will provide a different look at setter from those of seasons past.

2002: Served as the backup setter seeing action in eight games, three in Big 12 play...totaled 17 assists on the season...season-high of 10 assists came against Cal at the UNLV/Gameworks Classic tournament...had three digs on the season and one kill.

HIGH SCHOOL: A 2002 graduate of Lansing High School in Lansing, Kan., where she was a three-sport athlete...she earned eight letters with half coming in volleyball...summer of 2002 saw her earn MVP honors in the Kansas All-Star 2001 she led her volleyball team to a 35-3 record which including a Kaw Valley League Championship as well as a Sub-State Championship...was named 2001 KVA All-Star, Mo-Kan All-Star, 4A state tournament team, first-team All-League...her junior year was just as steller as her senior with her team compiling a 34-6 overall record, Kaw Valley league champions, Sub-State champions and 4A state runner-up...her honors in 2000 include being named to the 4A state All-Tournament team and first-team All-League...outside athletics she was a member of the National Honor Society, named to the honor roll, was involved in community service and was on student leadership council.

PERSONAL: Born on Feb. 3, 1984, in Kansas City, Kan., to John and Linda Schukman...both parents graduted from Fort Hays State University and sister, Beth, played volleyball for FHSU...father is a self-employed contractor and mother is a teacher...hobbies include playing the piano, computer technology, video and audio productions and web design...majoring in business.
